Administered to adults in an effort to avoid the probability of attaining the disease called shingles. Shingles is a disease experienced by those who have already had chicken pox and/ or were vaccinated to it. Although many symptoms may appear to be similar to chicken pox at face value, it’s a lot more aggressive in its ability to inflict pain. In clinical trials, the Shingles vaccine was found to reduce the risk of the Shingles disease in 50% of those vaccinated. In patients who were vaccinated but still developed the disease, it at least lessened the severity of the main symptom (pain).
